Reminder and Summer Reading

Reminder that all books borrowed from our school library need to be returned at your child’s next library class. Though our school library is closed over the summer, children should not take a vacation from reading. The best example of how important that is to you is for your child to see you reading, and for you to read with them. Please review the attached for additional ideas for summer reading. 2017 Summer Reading letter

Thank you for choosing St. Isidore School for your family. God bless you with peace, joy and love throughout the summer.

Last Week to Borrow and Summer Reading

This week (May 15-19) is the last week for students to borrow books from our school library. Library books will be due at the next library class. There are many wonderful summer reading programs available to help keep students reading all summer long. The best way to keep them reading though is through your example of reading yourself and sharing reading experiences together. I pray that you enjoy a wonderful, relaxing summer. Thank you for choosing St. Isidore School for your family. God bless you.

Merry Christmas!

Warmest wishes for a beautiful Christmas to all of our St. Isidore School Families.

We read The Night Before Christmas, illustrated by Robert Sabuda, in the library this week. The students enjoyed this pop-up version of this classic poem. Mr. Sabuda has his own website that provides details for making pop-up cards. You can visit his website at https://www.robertsabuda.com/

Library

Second and Third Grade students need to bring their library book back to the library tomorrow for return or renewal. Please remember that several books have a waiting list. Thank you.

Library Information

Mrs. Shuster’s Scholastic Reading Club account code is GKJGN.

The first month of the Pizza Hut Book-It Program ends today. Students should return their completed calendar or tracking sheet to their teacher to receive their pizza certificate. Certificates are good for one month from the date they are issued by the teacher. Let’s keep reading!

BOOK-IT Begins!

St. Isidore School participates in the Book-It Program. The program runs from October – March each year and is a way to encourage students and their families to read. Students are given a calendar, or other log each month to track their reading. Teachers will set a goal: either minutes per day or month, or pages or books read each month. Students complete their calendar or log and if they achieve their goal they will receive a certificate for a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut each month they achieve their goal. Thank you for encouraging your child to read and Thank You for choosing St. Isidore School for your family.
